Consultant Recruiter

COOP is seeking a recruiter to support the hiring process for two senior leadership positions: Managing Director of Finance and Managing Director of Talent. The consultant will own sourcing, initial screening, and end-to-end recruitment process support for both requisitions, working closely with the Associate Director of Talent Acquisition (ADTA) and hiring manager (Chief Operating Officer) to ensure a strong pipeline of qualified candidates and successful fulfillment of both roles within the desired timeframe.

Organizational Background

COOP Careers ("co-op") is a nonprofit overcoming underemployment through digital skills and peer connections. Over the last decade, we've developed an effective and efficient method to help first-gen grads secure their first good job in an upwardly-mobile career. Our method reflects the powerful role of relationships in the labor market and the three qualities every job seeker needs: head, heart, and hustle. Since 2014, COOP’s alumni-led program has mobilized more than 5,000 grads across five regions, helping three-in-four alumni overcome underemployment within 12 months.

Scope of work
Successful project completion will be defined as successful hires (job offer and acceptance) and:

  • Sourcing Plan: create and execute a sourcing strategy using own resources and network as well as LinkedIn Recruiter to support deep and broad pipeline of initial candidates
  • Initial Screening: work with ADTA to create initial interview structure aligned with COOP’s recruitment process and designed to assess technical and cultural fit
    • Conduct all initial screening interviews using COOP’s ATS (JazzHR)
  • Hiring Process Coordination: support ADTA and COO with subsequent stages of hiring process, including interview scheduling, interview question creation, and reference check support.

Proposal Guidelines & Consultant Qualifications
Interested consultants should submit a proposal that includes:

  • Proposed timeline of hiring stages from launch to start date
  • Short narrative on approach to sourcing and cultivating leadership candidates in the nonprofit sector, including intended use of LinkedIn Recruiter or other outreach platforms
  • Cost breakdown with indication of hourly or project-based fee structure

Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on:

  1. Experience and qualifications of the consultant
  2. Strength and feasibility of the sourcing plan, approach to pipeline building, and hiring timeline
  3. Total project cost
