What You Will Do
The Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications (Email Marketing) will lead the execution and optimization of COOP’s email marketing campaigns, leveraging Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (MCAE/Pardot) and other tools. This role focuses on audience segmentation, automation, and performance analytics to engage stakeholders including alumni, program participants, donors, and partners.
You’ll be responsible for designing and deploying email campaigns, building segmented workflows, and collaborating cross-functionally with teams to enhance digital communications. This role requires technical expertise in email marketing platforms, specifically MCAE (Pardot), as well as the ability to optimize campaigns for maximum impact.
Responsibilities
Email marketing execution and optimization (60%)
- Develop, test, and execute email marketing campaigns using MCAE, including automation workflows and segmentation strategies.
- Design and optimize responsive email templates, ensuring strong deliverability and engagement.
- Build and analyze audience segments to refine targeting and improve open and click-through rates.
- Deploy email campaigns using leading email marketing platforms, including Salesforce, MCAE, and similar tools.
- Develop and manage complex, segmented workflows to personalize and optimize campaign performance.
- Maintain quality control of email content, ensuring consistency in branding, tone, and accuracy.
- Provide guidance and documentation to ensure internal teams follow best practices in email execution.
Collaboration and cross-functional support (15%)
- Work closely with recruiting, program, alumni, and fundraising teams to support email marketing initiatives.
- Coordinate with the IT team to ensure smooth data integration and CRM optimization.
- Support cross-channel communication efforts, including SMS and other owned media.
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for email marketing workflows and automation.
Process improvement and reporting (15%)
- Monitor and analyze email performance metrics, providing insights to improve engagement and conversion rates.
- Document and refine email marketing processes to enhance efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and digital marketing best practices.
- Train internal teams as needed on email automation and CRM best practices.
Website and digital content management (10%)
- Manage and update website content, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and SEO optimization.
- Support the design and functionality of COOP’s website, making improvements as needed.
- Ensure integration between email, website, and CRM to streamline data flows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align website updates with broader marketing initiatives.
Who We Need
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in designing and deploying emails using Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (formerly Pardot), Salesforce NPC, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud. You will be adept at building complex, segmented audiences and workflows to maximize the impact of digital campaigns.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in email marketing.
- Proficiency in Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (MCAE/Pardot), including automation, segmentation, and reporting.
- Expertise in designing and deploying segmented email campaigns with automation workflows using MCAE’s Engagement Studio.
- Strong understanding of email analytics and A/B testing to optimize performance.
- Knowledge of HTML for email development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional experience with email marketing platforms, including Salesforce NPC, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, would be helpful.
- Basic website management (Squarespace preferred but not required).

What We Offer You

- Base Annual Salary: $80,000- $85,000 (commensurate with experience)

Currently, all COOP team members are working remotely and attending a once-a-month in-person coworking and team-building day at our co-located space in lower Manhattan (Civic Hall, 124 E 14th St, New York, NY 10003) for NYC team members and in San Francisco (Swissnex, San Francisco Pier 17, The Embarcadero Suite 800, San Francisco, CA 94111) for Bay Area team members or a mutually convenient coworking location for our Los Angeles, Chicago, and Miami team members.
Residency Policy
All employees must reside within commuting distance (approximately two hours) of a COOP Program site located in the following cities: Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Bay Area, and within the states of CA, CT, FL, IL, IN, NJ or NY.
